How it works

Play every Tuesday.
Top four make Finals Night.

Every round is a scramble. Everyone tees off, your team picks the best shot, and you all play from there. Repeat until it’s in the hole.

1

Gather your crew.

Bring together a group of mates. Up to four players tee off each night, with a minimum of three. Players can rotate week to week, so whoever’s free can play.

2

Register your team.

Pay the $100 Team Entry Fee to lock in your spot. 100% of it goes into the prize pool.

3

Play the world tour.

Each round is 18 holes on a different world-famous course. The better your team finishes, the more points you bank on the season leaderboard.

4

Make Finals Night.

The top four teams on the leaderboard play off for the title. First and second split the cash prize pool, and Finals Night is free to play.

ON THE NIGHT: Arrive at 6:30pm for warm up. Tee off 6:45 – 7pm. Finish by 9:30pm.

Why play Scramble League

All the best bits of golf.
No handicap needed.

Everyone counts.

In a scramble, any player’s shot could be the one the team uses. The big hitter takes the drive, someone else sinks the putt, and nobody gets left on the sidelines. Any skill level can play.

Real ball flight, real conditions.

Hit balls on the driving range while Toptracer tracks the full flight of every shot, wind included. Every shot plays out exactly as you hit it.

18 holes in about two hours.

Get a full round in with mates on a weeknight, without giving up a chunk of your weekend.

Play the courses the pros play, like Pebble Beach, St. Andrews and Pinehurst No. 2. It’s a new course every week, so it’s always a new challenge.

FAQ AND RULES

Some good things to know.

No. In a scramble, the team only uses the best shot each time, so every skill level contributes. Beginners are welcome.

Anyone can play! Mixed teams are encouraged. Women and juniors play from the forward tees, and men from the back tees. Under 18s must be accompanied by an adult.

Once you’re within 32 metres of the pin, the game switches to short game mode. You select a target on the range to shoot for; the further the target, the bigger the scoring zone you have to hit to hole out.

Each week, teams are ranked on their score and earn points based on where they finish. The more teams in the league, the more points are up for grabs. The top four teams on points after Round 5 make Finals Night. Full details are in the rules below.

No problem. Rosters can rotate, and you only need three players to play a round. If your team can’t get three together on the Tuesday, you can play a make-up round on the Wednesday or Thursday of that week. Make-up rounds still count for points, but they’re not eligible for the weekly bonus holes.

No. You’re hitting real balls on a real driving range. Toptracer tracks the full flight of every shot, including the effect of real wind, rather than predicting a flight path from a short hit into a screen.

If you don’t have your own clubs we’ll give you a small set so you can play.

Absolutely. You can order food and drinks to your bay while you play.

Yes, up to and including Round 2. Late teams pay the full Team Entry Fee and start on the same points total as the lowest team on the leaderboard.

The $100 Team Entry Fee is paid when you register. The $20 Weekly Playing Fee is paid on the night either individually or as a team.

The season needs a minimum of six teams to run. If it doesn’t go ahead, or doesn’t finish, Team Entry Fees are refunded in full.

Teams

  • Teams can have a rotating roster, but a maximum of four players can play in any round, with a minimum of three.
  • Under 18s must be accompanied by an adult.

Format

  • Each round is 18 holes of scramble on Toptracer Virtual Golf.
  • All teams play the same course each week, and the course changes weekly.
  • 3 tee shots from each player must be used each round.
  • Women and juniors (under 18) play from the forward tees, and men from the back tees.
  • Rounds must be finished by 9:30pm. Any holes not completed by then are scored at par +2.

Points

  • Teams are ranked on their score each week.
  • Points equal the number of teams registered that week. First place earns the top number of points, then one fewer for each place below.
  • Teams that tie share the higher placing’s points, and the next placing is skipped. For example, with 10 teams, two teams tied for first both earn 10 points, and the next team earns 8.
  • A team that doesn’t play in a given week scores 0 points for that round.

Make-up rounds

  • A team that can’t field three players on a Tuesday can play a make-up round on the Wednesday or Thursday of that week.
  • Make-up scores count for points but are not eligible for the weekly bonus holes.

Late entries

  • Late entries are accepted up to and including Round 2.
  • Late teams pay the full Team Entry Fee and start on the points total of the lowest-placed team.

Finals Night

  • The top four teams on points after Round 5 qualify. A tie for placings to make the final is decided on countback.
  • All four teams play one round, and the final placings are decided on that round’s score alone.
  • A tie for first is decided by a closest-to-the-pin shootout. Each player hits one shot, and the closest shot wins.

Prize pool

  • The prize pool is made up of 100% of Team Entry Fees, with a guaranteed minimum of $1,000 cash.
  • It is split 70/30 between first and second place on Finals Night.

Weekly bonus holes (Tuesday nights only)

  • Ace Bounty: $1,000 Swing Factory Credit for a hole-in-one on the nominated par 3. There’s a limit of one per team per week, and aces by different teams each win $1,000.
  • The Shout: birdie or better on the nominated hole earns one house drink per player (house beer, house wine or soft drink).
  • Chip Shot: birdie or better on the nominated hole earns two baskets of fries for the team.
  • Bonus holes are supervised by staff, and staff decisions are final.
